Navigation aids are becoming increasingly complex however the need for robust tough mooring systems has changed little. ONA Marine know the requirements well and can support construction and remediation works.
Maintaining the quality and visibility of navigational aids is vital for preventing harm to those operating on the water. ONA Marine have and established history design, building and maintaining Aids to Navigation (AtoN) mooring systems.
We understand the challenges of providing integrity management and maintenance solutions in the marine environment for clients including Marine Safety Authorities , Port Authorities, Utility companies and, increasingly, offshore wind and scientific projects. Our staff are well trained and extremely experienced for the task.
All Aids to Navigation (AtoN) within ports and at sea, whether fixed or floating, are required to meet the standards as stated within the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA) guidelines and recommendations.
ONA Marine designs and constructs AtoN buoy mooring systems using our own unique buoy designs or using the plastic or the OEM manufactured buoys of your choice. Most solutions require a specialised mooring solutions or one that is environmentally friendly thereby the reducing impacts to benthic areas. Environmentally friendly moorings achieve this reduction by reducing the size of the mooring anchor and keeping the mooring rode off of the seafloor.
